[2.3] Experimental __
Video Instructions are provided with delivery of any device. You are buying an experimental device, technical support may come from the developers of component pieces rather than Douglas Mining. No warranty is given other than a manufacturing guarantee that everything has been tested before shipment. Component pieces may include experimental scientific instruments whose warranty will void as a result of field use. Should a unit fail we want to work with you to improve that unit and identify how and why.
Ideal for sampling between 1 to 50 meters. Sampling depth is 0.5x the the distance of probes at the surface. This professional grade Resistivity Meter is custom built with parts sourced from different contains to provide the scientist the most consistant and sensitive Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT) survey tools. Water, mineral deposits, caves or tunnels, archaeological sites, and even buried caches can be meaningfully identified using this tool.
A Resistivity Survey is conducted by placing metal probes into the ground and an electrical current is passed between them. The resistance of the current is measured in Ohms. Depending on the resistance the current encounters, you can identify different underground anomalies. A high resistance anomaly would indicate something like a void, cave, or tunnel. A low resistance anomaly would indicate something like metal, minerals, or water.
In order to create an Image with the device, 8 to 16 probes are inserted into the ground and all possible combinations are scanned. The device guides you through this process and automatically creates an image of what is underground.
